Male rugby league player, aged 21, weight 102kg, height 182cm. This client is in pre season training and wants to increase strength and size for the upcoming season. The client plays in the Second row position. What test would you administer to assessment current fitness for this client and why have you chosen those?

Body composition tests such as BMI.

Strength tests such as various 1 rep max tests as they are accurate and with enough tests a generally clear estimate of strength can be achieved. The handgrip test would not be as valid as it does not measure full body strength.
