Ramp up

How did you set this test up

Plug in the computer up to the bike and load the software. Then take the clients blood pressure and fill in the details including weight and height and then let the client start their warm up taking 5 minutes at 50 RPM.

What health and safety issues have you considered?

Before the test begins you need to take the clients blood pressure to see if they're fit enough to take the test on the day.

How have you ensured these issues are dealt with?

You continuously ask the athlete where they are on the rpe scale, whilst keeping an eye on their heart rate making sure it doesn't go past max. After they complete the test, you ensure that they are cooled down properly and their heart rate is down to at least under 120bpm before they get off the watt bike.

What procedure have you used to complete this test? what steps have been taken?

Plug the computer to the bike and load up software.
Take clients blood pressure.
Put heartbeat sensor on client.
Let client begin 5 minute warm up on watt bike
Increase of watt and resistance to 3
Every minute increase rpm by 15 and check on rpe what level client is at
When they hit level 15 mark their current power every 10 seconds for 10 times maximum
